FROM TREBLINKA TO TRIESTE

The documentary deals with the German occupation of Northern Italy until 1945 and the concentration camp that was built in a former rice mill, La Risiera di San Sabba near Trieste.
It highlights the existence of a concentration camp on Italian soil and the continuation of the extermination program there.
In spring of 1945, with the Allies approaching, La Risiera was finally abandoned. In an attempt to cover up all traces of incinerations, the SS blew up the chimney and crematorium. The unit fled and went underground. Even today, this remains a barely known part of German-Italian-Austrian-Slovenian history.
