POSTPRODUCTION OF FORBIDDEN FILMS COMPLETED

FORBIDDEN FILMS is a documentary about the difficult dealing with the legacy of Nazi cinema. The documentary examines the last of the still banned films of the Third Reich and traces their myth, their audience and their impact today, in Germany and abroad, by using some totally unknown film footage. For the first time, a large amount of aged film prints have been scanned in high resolution/2k. Interview partners are among others Oskar Roehler, Moshe Zimmermann, Rainer Rother, Margarethe von Trotta, Jörg Jannings, Sonja M. Schulz, Götz Aly as well as ex-members of the Neonazi scene and survivors of the Shoah. Coproduction with Arte/RBB and HR. Supported by Medienboard, FFF, FFA und DFFF.
